What part of your personality, passions, beliefs do you attribute to growing up in Utah?
TR: My connection to nature and appreciation for it’s many forms is a result of growing up in Utah. While growing up in Utah, my passion for art developed. I was always inspired by the mountains and the distinct four seasons.
When did you realize that you wanted to be an artist?
TR: My mom is an artist. At an early age I had decided I wanted to be one too. I was the pre-schooler who used blue to paint her brown bear. I am lucky to have a mom that taught me to always explore my creativity.

What’s your favorite thing about being an artist?
TR: My favorite thing about painting is that it has given me a new perspective. When I go on a walk, I don’t see green leaves on trees, I see green leaves with purple and yellow and blue tones. I can’t help but to notice odd shapes and colors everywhere I go.
Where do you find inspiration for your art?
TR: I find most inspiration for my art in nature. I am inspired by animals and their eyes, and by colors and lines. I enjoy pushing the boundary with color and making things a little more saturated than one might see with the naked eye.

What is your favorite piece of artwork? and why is it your favorite?
I don’t think I could ever pin-point a favorite piece, mainly because I see the mistakes in all of them. Lately I have painted many salmon that have made it into the homes of some amazing families. That is what I love, giving my art a good home.
Tell us one thing about yourself that most people don’t know.
I am extremely impatient, most of the time it is very difficult to wait for each layer of paint to dry. Something I will always be working on.
