A Creative Lifestyle

Annemarie or “Mimi” Kvinge is a self taught artist based out of Seattle, WA. As the youngest child of two ski bums from Sun Valley, Mimi was exposed to a creative lifestyle early on in her life. Her mom & dad used to take her out skiing at age 2 & always encouraged her creativity through art. “The mountains have always been a spiritual place for me ever since I can remember. That’s what I’m drawn to & a lot of my work is based around that.”

Beating the Odds

When Mimi was 13 years old, she was diagnosed with a serious illness that meant she lost a large chunk of her leg and had to go through years of major medical treatment. “I had to work doubly hard after I was cured to regain my strength and athletic ability. Exceeding my doctors expectations for the functionality of that leg and my athletic potential was an immense pleasure. Part of the reason the mountains are so special to me is that they are where most of my physical and emotional recovery from that experience occurred and still occurs to this day.” Now, Mimi skis with her dad on a regular basis and gets out into mountains whenever her work allows.

A Change of Plans

Until just a couple years ago, Mimi had never even thought of her art as a way to make a living. Now she’s making and selling her art as a main source of income.
